The £1.3 million Tattersalls Millions, Europe’s most valuable sales race series, continues this Wednesday, 15 April, at The Craven Meeting, Newmarket, with the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions 3YO Sprint. A total of nine have been declared for the six furlong contest, including The Warrior for trainer Aidan O’Brien.

Other notable runners include Richard Fahey’s Ballymore Castle who was third in the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions Median Auction Trophy in September, and impressive maiden winners Encore d’Or for Ralph Beckett and William Jarvis’s Nuno Tristan. Brian Meehan has the only filly in the race, Sulaalaat.

Brian Meehan, commented; “She’s a very nice filly who has done very well over the winter and is working very well at home. We had considered the Nell Gwyn with her but on ratings this seems an easier race for her and its obviously valuable. She was a nice filly last year but was probably just a bit over the top on her last run at Salisbury but she had a holiday after that and has come back in a lovely strong and tall filly this year.”

There is one more race scheduled in the 2014/15 £1.3 million Tattersalls Millions series, the £200,000 Tattersalls Millions 3YO Trophy which takes place on the second day of The Craven Meeting this Thursday, 16 April.

Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, featuring the only yearlings eligible for next year’s £1.3 million Tattersalls Millions series, takes place from 6 – 8 October.
