The Richard Hannon trained two year old HAVANA GOLD continued his ascent towards the top of the two year old tree with an impressive win in the Tattersalls sponsored Group 3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes on the opening day of Newmarket's Cambridgeshire Meeting.

Purchased for 80,000 guineas at Book 1 of last year's Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by bloodstock agent Amanda Skiffington, the son of TEOFILO out of the Group 3 winning mare JESSICA'S DREAM has now won four of his five starts, with his only defeat coming when his saddle slipped in a Listed contest at Deauville.

Owned in partnership by Qatar Racing Limited and CSH, HAVANA GOLD may now be on course for a tilt at the £500,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Trophy, Europe's most valuable two year old race, according to Richard Hannon Jnr speaking after the race.

Bred by Sir Eric Parker at his Crimbourne Stud in West Sussex, HAVANA GOLD has a GALILEO three parts sister selling as lot 43 at Book 1 of the forthcoming Tattersalls October Yearling Sale (October 9th - 11th).

All 577 lots catalogued in Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale are eligible for the six races which comprise the £1,300,000 Tattersalls Millions.
