Tattersalls October yearling RED CADEAUX finally landed the elusive Group 1 win he so richly deserved in the Group 1 Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin.

Beaten the shortest of margins in the 2011 Melbourne Cup, the Ed Dunlop trained six year old gelding appropriately scored his biggest win to date on the home turf of his Hong Kong based owner Ronnie Arculli, a long - time owner and former Chairman of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. By CADEAUX GENEREUX out of the PEINTRE CELEBRE mare ARTISIA, RED CADEAUX was purchased on behalf of Arculli for 55,000 guineas at Book 3 of the 2007 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by Charlie Gordon - Watson.

Bred by Foursome Thoroughbreds and consigned to the October Yearling Sale by Round Hill Stud, RED CADEAUX's win in the Hong Kong Vase was his seventh from 33 lifetime starts and took his earnings to a massive £1,795,772.
