Following on from Tattersalls July Sale graduate MOJAVE DESERT winning the Group 2 Qatar International Cup, Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani'’s Al Shaqab Racing was triumphant on home turf when winning the Group 1 H.H The Emir’s Trophy over 2400 metres with DUBDAY.  The son of DUBAWI was settled in mid-division under Frankie Dettori before swooping up the outside to claim an easy victory at the Al Rayyan track in Doha. DUBDAY was purchased at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale in 2012 by German trainer Andreas Trybuhl for a mere 11,000 guineas whilst his dam DAYROSE was purchased at last year’s Tattersalls December Mare Sale for 17,500 guineas by Brian Kennedy of Meadowlands Stud.

DUBDAY’s win was the highlight of a superb day in Doha for Tattersalls with the first four home in the Group 1 event all graduates of Tattersalls horses in training sales. The second  horse home PETER ANDERS, was purchased at the Tattersalls July Sale in 2012 for 50,000 guineas, 2011 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale purchase POLPERRO was third and the Tattersalls Guineas Horses in Training Sale graduate CLEAN BOWLED was fourth.

The four other thoroughbred races were won by COURT LIFE, purchased at last year's Tattersalls July Sale for 15,000 guineas by Mubarak Al Naemi, IMPOUND, purchased at the 2012 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale for 45,000 guineas by Abdulaziz Al Boenain, MOMALORKA, purchased at the same sale for 55,000 guineas by Sheikh Mishal Bin Hamad Al Thani and CITY ZEN, purchased by Gassim Mohammad Ghazali  for 50,000 guineas at the 2013 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale.
