Tattersalls October Yearling purchases dominated a high class card at Sandown with WESTERN HYMN  winning the Group 3 Classic Trial and TULLIUS the Group 2 bet365 Mile.

The John Gosden trained WESTERN HYMN, purchased for 50,000 guineas by Blandford Bloodstock from Newsells Park Stud, enhanced his claims as a genuine Classic prospect by maintaining his unbeaten record in a race with a proven record for producing Derby winners. As low as 9 - 1 second favourite for the Investec Derby, the son of HIGH CHAPARRAL now looks set to contest the Group 2 Dante Stakes at York on his way to Epsom.

Successful racing syndicate Kennet Valley Thoroughbreds looks set to enjoy another rewarding year after the 6 year old gelding TULLIUS enjoyed his finest moment to date, relishing the soft ground when winning his first Group 2 race. Purchased by David Redvers for 20,000 guineas from Trickledown Stud, the Andrew Balding trained son of LE VIE DEI COLORI took his career earnings past £200,000 with his stylish 3 3/4 lengths success.

The next Tattersalls sale is the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up and Horses in Training Sale which takes place May 1st - 2nd. The catalogue comprises 158 breeze up two year olds and 78 horses in training.
