Group 3 winner BRENDAN BRACKAN heads a group of seven quality wildcard entries for the forthcoming Tattersalls July Sale, which takes place Wednesday 9th - Friday 11th July.
G3 Winner Brendan Brackan, one of seven Wildcard Entries
BRENDAN BRACKAN, an admirably tough and consistent Group performer over a mile, comes to the July Sale with top class recent form and a ‘Timeform' rating of 115+. Group 2 placed in Dubai over the winter, his latest two starts were a fine second conceding over a stone to recent Group 3 Jersey Stakes winner MUSTAJEEB in the Group 3 Amethyst Stakes, and an equally creditable third beaten less than a length in the Group 3 Ballycorus Stakes over 7 furlongs, a distance slightly below his best.
Placed in no less than seven Group and Listed contests and ideally suited to a strongly run mile, the Ger Lyons trained son of BIG BAD BOB also holds an entry in the Group 3 Minstrel Stakes at The Curragh.
Improving three year old miler DURSEY ISLAND, a recent winner at Goodwood for trainer Richard Hannon, and multiple Listed placed MIRSAALE, winner of last year’s Investec Derby Trial, have also been added to the July Sale catalogue. The lightly raced DURSEY ISLAND, a son of ELUSIVE QUALITY, has won or been placed in three of his five starts to date and MIRSAALE, beaten only 7 lengths in the 2013 Investec Derby, has been Listed placed on two of his last three starts this year.
The septet of wildcard entries is completed by the smart winning two year olds GRANNY ALICE, KO CACHE and LUPIE as well as STEVIE’S WONDER, an eye-catching second on his debut in a high class Curragh maiden behind the Aidan O’Brien trained GLENEAGLES.
All seven wildcard entries will be offered during the evening session of Thursday 10th July and will be catalogued as lots 464A - 464G.
Long established as Europe’s premier midsummer sale, the Tattersalls July Sale is a proven source of Group 1 winners and the 2014 catalogue comprises 764 lots, including major consignments of horses and fillies in training from leading owner/breeders Darley, Juddmonte Farms and Shadwell Estates.
