Europe’s most valuable sales race series continues this Saturday with the £500,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Trophy at Newmarket, one of Europe’s most valuable two-year-old races. A total of 14 have been declared for the seven furlong contest, including Group 2 Norfolk Stakes winner WATERLOO BRIDGE for Irish Champion trainer Aidan O’Brien.

First and fourth home in the £200,000 Tattersalls Millions Median Auction Trophy, Zhui Feng, and Nimr line up again in the £500,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Trophy. Other notable runners include the Hugo Palmer trained Gifted Master and East Indies for John Gosden.

13 fillies have been declared for the other Tattersalls Millions race of the day, the £300,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Fillies’ Trophy. The Group 1 placed Alice Springs, who currently holds an entry for the Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas, leads the runners for the £300,000 contest for Aidan O’Brien. Engage, who looked promising when winning her maiden on her debut, is another interesting contender for trainer Sir Michael Stoute in the colours of Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.

Aidan O’Brien, commented; “Aidan O’Brien, commented; “Alice Springs came out of the Cheveley Park in great form so she’ll take her chance in an open looking race. She is tough and consistent and we’re hopeful of another good run. Waterloo Bridge hasn’t run since winning at Royal Ascot but has done well over the summer and while he hasn't raced for a while we think he has improved.”

Those declared in the two contests cover a full spectrum of prices from 42,000 guineas for the Richard Hannon trained colt Bigger and Better through to 575,000 guineas purchase Alice Springs.

Book 1 of the 2015 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale takes place October 6 – 8 and will feature the only yearlings eligible for the all-new £25,000 Tattersalls October ‘Book 1 Bonus’ which offers a £25,000 bonus to anyOctober Book 1 graduate who wins a Class 2, 3 or 4 Maiden in Great Britain or an ‘Open’ 2YO Maiden in Ireland.
