The regally bred PEARLING, dam of outstanding Irish Champion Stakes winner DECORATED KNIGHT, heads a quality catalogue for the forthcoming Tattersalls December Mares Sale which takes place December 3rd - 6th. The catalogue for Europe’s premier breeding stock sale numbers 1,095 lots and can be viewed online at

Widely regarded as the world’s most international bloodstock sale, the 2018 renewal of the Tattersalls December Mares Sale as ever combines the best of British and Irish breeding stock with significant consignments from throughout Europe and the addition of a quality consignment from top USA outfit Taylor Made Sales Agency which is making its European sales debut.

Group 1 producer PEARLING, carrying a GALILEO own brother or sister to multiple Group 1 winner DECORATED KNIGHT, is one of two mares in foal to GALILEO catalogued, the other being the Listed placed five-year-old POCKETFULLOFDREAMS, while buyers will have three opportunities to buy a mare in foal to DUBAWI. The trio of mares in foal to DUBAWI are the only mares in foal to the Darley sire on offer in Britain or Ireland and comprise Group 2 winner THE MINIVER ROSE, Group 3 winner STELLAR PATH and the Listed winner SOON. The December Mares Sale is also the only sale in Britain or Ireland to have mares in foal to the great FRANKEL with nine catalogued including Juddmonte Farms’ ARGUMENTATIVE, whose first foal is the Group 1 winning two-year-old EPICURIS, the Listed winning and Classic placed SHAMARDAL mare HEURISTIQUE, the Listed winning and Group 1 placed PIVOTAL mare PRINCESS LOULOU and the Listed placed RUBINA whose FRANKEL first foal is the smart American Stakes winner RUBILINDA.

The catalogue includes 116 Group and Listed winners/producers and features mares in foal to all of the current top 20 active British and Irish sires including DARK ANGEL, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, KODIAC, LOPE DE VEGA, SEA THE STARS and SHAMARDAL as well as 13 in foal to leading French based sire SIYOUNI and the only mare in foal to the great WAR FRONT to be offered in Britain or Ireland this year. Aficionados of the progeny of the two exciting freshman sires KINGMAN and NO NAY NEVER are well catered for with eighteen mares in foal to Juddmonte Farms’ son of INVINCIBLE SPIRIT and eleven in foal to Coolmore Stud’s son of SCAT DADDY.

The Dispersal of Bobby Flay’s European stock also looks set to attract plenty of attention with the eight strong team consigned by Baroda and Colbinstown Studs including the regally bred Stakes placed MONTJEU mare AULD ALLIANCE, in foal to FRANKEL, the Group 3 winning, Grade 1 placed BANZARI, in foal to FASTNET ROCK and the Group 3 winner ALBISOLA in foal to LOPE DE VEGA. Another dispersal is that coming from Susan and the late Kevin Mercer’s highly successful Usk Valley Farm in Wales. The team of ten includes the DUBAI DESTINATION mare WELSH ANGEL, already the dam of Group 3 performer SCARLET DRAGON, in foal to SHOWCASING and the CAPE CROSS mare LONDON WELSH, whose first foal is the Listed winner WICK POWELL, in foal to NIGHT OF THUNDER.

The largest consignment comes from The Castlebridge Consignment who bring a team of 61, narrowly ahead of the 59 strong consignment from Godolphin. The annual hugely popular dispersal from Juddmonte Farms numbers 39, while the leading owner/breeders Cheveley Park Stud, Hascombe and Valiant Stud, Lanwades Stud, Meon Valley Stud, Newsells Park Stud, The Royal Studs and Shadwell Stud are all well represented alongside consignors Jamie Railton and Voute Sales whose teams number 43 and 37.

Top class race fillies and mares on offer include the Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes winner OFF LIMITS who will be consigned by European Sales Management alongside Group 3 winning and Group 1 Prix Saint-Alary second VUE FANTASTIQUE. The Group 2 winning sprinter RAVEN’S LADY looks sure to attract plenty of admirers along with last year’s Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes winner HEARTACHE and Group 3 winners LUMINATE and BEAUTIFUL MORNING. Amongst the Listed winning fillies, BILLESDON BESS looks a highlight as the half-sister to this year’s 1,000 Guineas winner BILLESDON BROOK.
