DUBAWI HEIGHTS and DECEMBER DRAW provided a timely Group 1 double for Tattersalls yearlings on the eve of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Europe’s premier yearling sale.

DUBAWI HEIGHTS recorded her second victory at the highest level this year when running out a comfortable winner of the Grade 1 Yellow Ribbon Stakes at Santa Anita. The Simon Callaghan-trained daughter of DUBAWI is now likely to head for the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf.

DUBAWI HEIGHTS was initially sold at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale by her breeder Aston Mullins Stud to Tally-Ho Stud for 62,000 guineas before being reoffered at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale where she was knocked down to Neville Callaghan, father of trainer Simon Callaghan, for 72,000 guineas. DUBAWI HEIGHTS’ next visit through the Tattersalls sales ring was in 2009 at the Tattersalls December Sale when as a two-year-old she was purchased by Cormac McCormack Bloodstock for 75,000 guineas on behalf of her current syndicate of owners.

In Australia, the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale graduate DECEMBER DRAW confirmed his favouritism for the Group 1 Caulfield Cup in two weeks time with a determined victory in the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes at Flemington, beating fellow import GLASS HARMONIUM. A winner of five of his six starts since his transfer to trainer Mark Kavanagh, DECEMBER DRAW is now as short as 2/1 for the Caulfield Cup.

DECEMBER DRAW was purchased at Book 3 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by agent Amanda Skiffington for 25,000 guineas from the draft of Tuckmilltown Lodge Stud and continued the good run of Tattersalls graduates in Australia over the weekend. MY KINGDOM OF FIFE, bought for 60,000 guineas at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale, was an impressive winner of the Group 3 Craven Plate on Saturday and heads for the Group 1 Cox Plate, whilst HAWK ISLAND, a product of the same sale, was a good second in the Group 1 Metropolitan and looks set to take on DECEMBER DRAW in the Caulfield Cup.

The Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 starts this Wednesday, October 5 and continues until Friday, October 7, with Book 2 taking place from October 11-13 and Book 3 on October 14. Catalogues are out now and available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls Representatives and online at www.tattersalls.com
