2008 October Yearling Sale Book 4 Press Release

The top price for the day was 14,000 guineas for a SOVIET STAR filly out of the LAHIB mare LALIQUE. Consigned by Westerlands Stud on behalf of Belmore Lane Stud, the half-sister to two winners was purchased by trainer Clive Cox and will head to his Lambourn training base.

At the conclusion of Book 4 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented;

“Book 4 of the October Yearling Sale followed what was a very pleasing Autumn Horses in Training Sale but it has been a different story today. We catalogued upwards of 2000 yearlings for the four books of the October Yearling Sale and whilst Books 1 to 3 provided results that were ahead of expectations given the constant stream of poor economic news, the same cannot be said of Book 4 where uncommercial yearlings have struggled to find a home. On a more positive note, we sold another lot through our online bidding system and had 20 lots  with online bids during the Autumn Horses in Training Sale.”
