Quality Catalogue For Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up

Contributer, purchased for 130,000 guineas at the Craven Breeze Up Sale

The catalogue for the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up, which takes place April 14th – 16th, is now online and can be viewed at www.tattersalls.com. 145 high class two year olds have been catalogued for Europe’s premier sale of two year olds in training, which has produced an impressive 58 Group and Listed performers since 2012 including recent Australian Group 1 winner CONTRIBUTER.

In total the catalogue features own or half brothers and sisters to 43 Group and Listed winners including the MASTERCRAFTSMAN own brother to French Derby and Irish Champion Stakes winner THE GREY GATSBY, the CAPE BLANCO half brother to current Dubai World Cup favourite TOAST OF NEW YORK, the OASIS DREAM half brother to Eclipse winner MOUNT NELSON, the DISTORTED HUMOR half brother to top class stallion MASTERCRAFTSMAN, the INVINCIBLE SPIRIT half sister to Grade 1 winner FOLK OPERA, the WAR FRONT half brother to Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes winner MANI BHAVAN, the SEA THE STARS half sister to multiple Stakes winner GUSTO and the GALILEO half sister to Grade three placed PHOTO CALL out of the Group 3 winning THEANN, herself a half sister to Irish 1000 Guineas winner HALFWAY TO HEAVEN.

In total 13 of last year’s top 15 leading sires of two year olds in Britain and Ireland are well represented including DARK ANGEL, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, KODIAC, LOPE DE VEGA and SHOWCASING and leading USA based sires as ever feature prominently including proven Group sires BLAME, ELUSIVE QUALITY, EXCHANGE RATE, LEMON DROP KID, LOOKING AT LUCKY, MEDAGLIA D’ORO, MIZZEN MAST, QUALITY ROAD, SMART STRIKE, SPEIGHTSTOWN, STORMY ATLANTIC, TALE OF EKATI and the all conquering WAR FRONT.

Nine exciting sires with their first crop of two year olds are represented, with British and Irish based youngsters CANFORD CLIFFS, DREAM AHEAD, FROZEN POWER, LILBOURNE LAD, POET’S VOICE, POUR MOI and ZOFFANY joined by their USA based Grade 1 turf winning contemporaries GIO PONTI and PADDY O’PRADO.

The two largest consignments come from Tipperary based nurseries, Bansha House Stables and Mocklershill, which have teams of 15 and 14 respectively. Both consignors have topped previous renewals of the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up with Mocklershill heading last year’s sale with the 1,150,000 guineas sale – topping son of WAR FRONT out of JULIE FROM DIXIE. The largest British based team comes from another previous sale – topping consignor, Malcolm Bastard who brings nine two year olds to the sale.

Buyers looking to benefit from a number of enticing incentives will be well catered for with three lots entered for the five races comprising the £1,300,000 Tattersalls Millions, three entered in the inaugural £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, six €200,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Stakes entries and 27 which are Plus 10 eligible. In addition there are seven two year olds qualified for French Owners’ Premiums.
