Glorious Journey wins 45th ‘Book 1 Bonus’

The Charlie Appleby-trained GLORIOUS JOURNEY won the Margaret Giffen Memorial 2YO Novice Stakes at Newmarket and became the 45th winner of a Tattersalls October £25,000 Book 1 Bonus. The beautifully bred son of DUBAWI earned a total of £37,028 on debut made up of £4,528 in prize money, £7,500 from the Plus 10 bonus and £25,000 from the Book 1 Bonus.

Out of Group 1 Coronation Stakes winning mare FALLEN FOR YOU, the striking colt became the joint-highest priced yearling sold in the world last year when selling to John Ferguson for 2.6 million guineas at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. Consigned by Norris Bloodstock on behalf of Philippa Cooper’s Normandie Stud, GLORIOUS JOURNEY is from the family of multiple Group winners including Group 1 Lockinge Stakes winner FLY TO THE STARS.

The £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus is only for horses bought at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, that takes place from October 3 – 5.
