Johnstown Stud Trio Head Tattersalls Online March 23rd Sale

Lot 14: Hamlet (IRE)

The Tattersalls Online March 23rd Sale was headed by a trio of lots sold by Johnstown Stud as part of the late Sir Robert Ogden’s complete dispersal, topped by the 26,000 guineas sale of HAMLET to Mount Racing. A total of 14 lots sold for an aggregate of 137,000 guineas in the eleventh sale to be held on the Tattersalls Online platform.

HAMLET, a NO NAY NEVER two-year-old out of the Group 3 Tattersalls Musidora placed GALILEO mare PANDORA, herself an own-sister to the Listed placed pair of ALLEGIO and ISABELLA, was bought for 26,000 guineas by John Quinn, signing as Mount Racing. Quinn commented:

“He has a lovely pedigree and is a nice, scopey individual. I was able to visit where he’s been prepped and was very pleased when I saw him move. The Tattersalls Online platform is a great vehicle for a sale of this type, for both buyers and vendors.”

Lot 25: Tudor (IRE)

Alliance Bloodstock and Orbital Racing were the successful purchasers of TUDOR at 24,000 guineas. Officially rated 77, the three-year-old ZOFFANY colt is out of the GALILEO mare TIGER LILLY, an own-sister to Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup placed ROBIN HOOD. Alliance Bloodstock’s Eimear Donnelly said:

“Tudor has been purchased for a new syndicate, Orbital Racing. He’s a lovely horse, the last of the Zoffanys and rated 77 and will suit what we are looking for. A trainer has yet to be decided.”

Lot 12: Valley Of Kings (GB)

VALLEY OF KINGS, a full-brother to TUDOR, also sold 24,000 guineas, with Fernham Farm coming out on top for the two-year-old.

Matt Coleman, advisor to the complete dispersal of the late Sir Robert Ogden’s stock, commented:

“The Tattersalls Online platform offered us an effective way of selling these horses and we’re pleased with the prices that they all made. It was a very positive experience.”
