12 Jan 2023 Share on X Share on Facebook Tattersalls February Sale Catalogue Now Online Missed The Cut claimed a four and a quarter length victory at Royal Ascot in 2022 having been purchased for 40,000 guineas at last year's Tattersalls February Sale 463 lots have been catalogued for the two-day Tattersalls February Sale which will take place Thursday 2nd – Friday 3rd February and will feature the popular TBA Stallion Parade before the start of the sale on Thursday 2nd February. The catalogue for the Tattersalls February Sale can be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com and will be published on Wednesday 18th January. Comprising 203 fillies and mares in/out of training, 37 broodmares and one stallion, 200 colts and geldings in/out of training, 11 yearlings and 11 two-year-olds, the catalogue features high class consignments from leading owner-breeders including Godolphin and from leading British trainers including Andrew Balding, Karl Burke, John and Thady Gosden, William Haggas and Richard Hannon. Regular leading consignors Godolphin will offer a draft of 16 lots including the well-bred broodmares DUBIAN TO, a blacktype producing daughter of SEA THE STARS and dual Group/Grade 1 winner MRS LINDSAY, IMPALA, an OASIS DREAM half-sister to Group 1 winner ZAMBEZI SUN, and PALMAROLA, a SEA THE STARS half-sister to three Group winners from the excellent Wildenstein family of Group 1 winners PLANTEUR and PERSIAN KING. The draft also features several smartly bred fillies including MORNING BLUSH, by Champion JUSTIFY out of Grade 2 winner and dual Grade 1 placed DOTHRAKI QUEEN, and MYSTERY PLAY, a GOLDEN HORN half-sister to dual Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed USHERETTE. The Castlebridge Consignment will offer the largest draft in the catalogue with a team of 68 including the blacktype producer ALL TIME HIGH, in foal to NO NAY NEVER, and Barton Sales will offer a consignment of 20 featuring well-bred broodmares LUNEARIA, a daughter of GALILEO and the Grade 1 winner LUAS LINE, and QUEENHOPE, a KENDARGENT own-sister to Group 1 Coronation Stakes runner up KENHOPE, who will both be offered in foal to NEW BAY. Other eye-catchers among the draft include ALBANDERI, a KINGMAN half-sister to Group 1 winner THE REVENANT, and an exceptionally well-bred two-year-old colt by GALILEO, a half-brother to dual Group 1 winner AMAZING MARIA bred by the late Sir Robert Ogden. Other highlights among the broodmares catalogued include a quality duo consigned by Tweenhills Farm & Stud led by the Group 2 winner and Group 1 Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas placed NOW OR NEVER, a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner FAIRYLAND from the family of five-time Group 1 winner DREAM AHEAD, who will be offered in foal to KAMEKO. They are joined by the National Stud consigned ANNA MARIA, by INVINCIBLE SPIRIT out of dual Group 1 winner NANNINA, Hazelwood Bloodstock’s ATLAAL, by DANSILI out of Champion mare IGUGU, the Far Westfield Farm consigned NIGH, a GALILEO half-sister to Group 1 winner KINGSGATE NATIVE and already the dam of 2022 Group 3 winner VIA SISTINA, and the Harry Dutfield consigned DUBAWI mare KHOR SHEED, a Group 3 winner and the dam of 2022 Group 3 winner WITHOUT A FIGHT. A two-year-old Galileo half-brother to the late Sir Robert Ogden’s dual Group 1 winner Amazing Maria is among the highlights of the February Sale catalogue Buyers looking for colts and geldings in training with smart form also have plenty to choose from. Amongst the potential highlights are the three-year-old GALILEO colt SIR LAURENCE GRAFF, a full-brother to the Listed winner and St Leger fourth INTERPRETATION and the winner of his most recent start who will be offered with an official rating of 85 by the Castlebridge Consignment on behalf of John and Thady Gosden’s Clarehaven Stables, and the Jamie Railton consigned three-year-old ROARING LION colt MOHATU, Timeform rated 78p after an impressive maiden win for William Haggas. Juddmonte Farms will offer the unexposed three-year-old CLIFTON DOWN, placed on three of his four starts in France, and they will be joined by Gainsborough Thoroughbreds’ highly promising three-year-old filly THE IVY, the winner of her most recent start earning a Timeform rating of 78p. Other eyecatchers include the Marco Botti trained four-year-old AGUAPLANO, a dual winner and Timeform rated 94 following his most recent start, the consistent 89 rated DIAMOND RANGER, a dual winner and placed on his three most recent starts for George Boughey who will be offered by Baroda Stud, and the lightly raced four-year-old VEGA SICILIA, Timeform rated 86 for his maiden victory, who will be consigned by Barton Sales on behalf of Harry and Roger Charlton’s Beckhampton House Stables. The eleven two-year-olds catalogued include progeny of ADVERTISE, CARAVAGGIO, DARK ANGEL, EQTIDAAR, HARRY ANGEL, PHOENIX OF SPAIN, UNFORTUNATELY, VADAMOS and ZOUSTAR as well as the aforementioned colt by GALILEO, and pinhookers also look well catered for with yearlings catalogued by both proven and promising young sires including ARDAD, KAMEKO, KODI BEAR, LAND FORCE, MAKE BELIEVE, MASAR, MASSAAT, MOHAATHER, SOTTSASS and ZOUSTAR.
