The race traditionally serves as a stepping stone for older horses into the Grand Prix season and as a springboard for the Group 1 races in the summer and autumn, especially for the Grosser Preis von Baden on September 7th. Many outstanding horses have competed here in the past, including Torquator Tasso, Iquitos, Novellist, Silvano and, in earlier years, the legendary Acatenango. “We are delighted that we have been able to inspire a long-standing partner for this race in Tattersalls. The concept of the ‘Badische Wirtschaft’ had become somewhat outdated, so we wanted to break new ground here,” says Patricia Rotering, Head of Marketing & Sales at Baden Galopp. Tattersalls is also very happy with this new development: “Tattersalls are delighted to partner with Baden-Baden Racecourse with the sponsorship of the Group 2 Grosser Preis von Tattersalls which reaffirms our support of German racing and breeding. We hope the race continues to provide the same springboard to further success, as it has done for numerous German thoroughbred stars in the past”, explains Bobby Jackson, co-responsible for marketing at Tattersalls.
