Tattersalls October Book 1 graduate DROCHAID became the seventeenth winner of the £25,000 ‘Book 1 Bonus’ last night when victorious in the Betfred Maiden Stakes at Haydock. The Andrew Balding-trained colt nearly covered his purchase price when earning his owners Mick and Janice Mariscotti an impressive £36,446, made up of £3,946 in prize money, £7,500 from the Plus 10 Bonus scheme and £25,000 from the October ‘Book 1 Bonus’. The son of MASTERCRAFTSMAN is the second foal out of winning mare AVON LADY and was bought from the Meon Valley Stud consignment by Andrew Balding for just 40,000 guineas.
