POET’S VANITY became the 23rd winner of a Tattersalls October £25,000 Book 1 Bonus when winning the Virginia Walwyn Memorial EBF Quidhampton Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury by a very impressive 10 lengths. The Andrew Balding-trained filly picked up a total of £40,262 for her owner Mrs M E Wates, made up of £7,762 in prize money, £7,500 from the Plus 10 Bonus Scheme and £25,000 from the Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus. POET’S VANITY brought her conditioner’s tally to three Book 1 Bonus wins from the possible four Book 1 eligible horses he has in training, adding to victories by SOUTH SEAS and DROCHAID earlier in the season. Longview Stud consigned the daughter of POET’S VOICE at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale where she was sold to Blandford Bloodstock for 200,000 guineas. The emphatic maiden winner is a half-sister to Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes winner LESSON IN HUMILITY as well as Listed Conqueror Stakes winner BOASTFUL. POET’S VANITY’s yearling half-sister by RIP VAN WINKLE is to be offered at Book 1 of the 2016 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by Camas Park Stud and is catalogued as Lot 390.
