The Jessica Harrington-trained KHUKRI held on to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at The Curragh to become the 31st winner of a £25,000 October Book 1 Bonus. Owned by Mill House LLC, the son of SEPOY was bought by BBA Ireland’s Patrick Cooper for 130,000 guineas and won an impressive €48,522 for winning his maiden. Consigned by Herbertstown House Stud, the bay colt is out of Group 1 EP Taylor Stakes winning mare FRAULEIN and a half-brother to Listed winners MISCHIEF MAKING and THAT IS THE SPIRIT. On behalf of the owner, Patrick Cooper of BBA Ireland said: “Khukri deserved that and Jessie thinks he is quite decent. The owner Mr Brady is delighted and even more so having won a £25,000 Book 1 Bonus as well." Book 1 of the 2016 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale takes place October 4th-6th.
