The Sir Michael Stoute-trained GABR ran out a ready winner of the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes at Yarmouth today to collect the 73rd £25,000 October Book 1 Bonus. The victory earned his owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum a total of £37,028 when the Plus 10 bonus of £7,500 and prizemoney of £4,528 are included. GABR was purchased at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by Shadwell Estates’ Angus Gold for 300,000 guineas. He was bred and consigned by Cheveley Park Stud and is out of that stud’s Group 2 May Hill Stakes winner SPACIOUS. GABR is second winner in consecutive days for first season stallion INTELLO, the Prix du Jockey Club winner who stood his first two seasons at Cheveley Park Stud before relocating to France. The son of GALILEO is represented by five yearlings at Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale whilst there are 12 the following week in Book 2. The £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus is exclusively for horses bought at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale which takes place October 3rd - 5th.
