Cape Clear Island Comes Out On Top In Exciting £200,000 Tattersalls Millions 3yo Trophy
Cape Clear Island for trainer Aidan O’Brien battled on to win the nine runner £200,000 Tattersalls Millions 3YO Trophy at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse today, the last race of the 2014/15 £1.3 million Tattersalls Millions series.
The son of Fastnet Rock was bought by Charlie Gordon-Watson from Warren Chase Stud at the 2013 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1. Cape Clear Island won his maiden on the third time of asking in Ireland and was fourth in a Conditions race on his last start.
After the race, part owner Michael Tabor, commented, “He’s a nice horse, hopefully he will improve on that and who knows, we will see what happens. He could go for the Derby trials at either York or Chester if he is good enough but we will discuss it with Aidan.”
Greatest Journey, was second for Godolphin’s Saeed Bin Suroor, with the Andrew Balding trained Rocky Rider for Qatar Racing in third.
