Classic Success for Tattersalls October 1 Purchase Legatissimo

The David Wachman trained October Book 1 purchase LEGATISSIMO was an impressive winner of the Group 1 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on Sunday. The daughter of DANEHILL DANCER beat Godolphin’s LUCIDA in the season’s first Classic for fillies, the pair well clear of TWIGGY WIGGY in third.

LEGATISSIMO was purchased by MV Magnier for 350,000 guineas at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale from the draft of Newsells Park Stud who purchased her dam YUMMY MUMMY via John Warren Bloodstock for 460,000 guineas at the 2009 Tattersalls December Mare Sale.

YUMMY MUMMY, who is a half-sister to the five-time Group 1 winner FAME AND GLORY, has proven to be a very astute purchase by the Jacobs family’s Newsells Park Stud, with her three yearlings to sell realising 1,010,000 guineas.

Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Europe’s premier yearling sale, takes place 6 – 8 October, 2015.
