Classic Success for Tattersalls Purchase Make Believe
It was a second Classic success on consecutive weekends for Tattersalls graduates after MAKE BELIEVE ran out an emphatic winner of the Group 1 Poule d’Essai de Poulains at Longchamp on Sunday. The son of MAKFI won the French Classic by 3 lengths for owner Prince Faisal and trainer Andre Fabre.
MAKE BELIEVE was purchased by agent Hugo Merry for 180,000 guineas at the 2012 Tattersalls December Foal Sale on behalf of Prince Faisal, from the draft of breeder Simon Hope’s Aston Mullins Stud.
MAKE BELIEVE is out of the SUAVE DANCER mare ROSIE’S POSY, a daughter of the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes second MY BRANCH and a half sister to the Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup winner TANTE ROSE. ROSIE’S POSY is also the dam of dual-Grade 1 winner DUBAWI HEIGHTS and was sold at the 2012 Tattersalls December Mare Sale for 400,000 guineas to Blandford Bloodstock. She had been originally purchased for just 2,200 guineas in 2003 as a filly in training at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale.
The victory was the second Classic success in two weeks for Tattersalls graduates after October Book 1 purchase LEGATISSIMO won the Group 1 1,000 Guineas last Sunday.
