Dam of Group 1 Vertem Futurity Trophy Winner Magna Grecia to be Offered at Tattersalls December Mares Sale

Tattersalls December Foal Sale graduate MAGNA GRECIA got up to win the Group 1 Vertem Futurity Trophy Stakes in an exciting finish at Doncaster this afternoon.  The lightly raced son of INVINCIBLE SPIRIT broke his maiden on debut over seven furlongs at Naas at the end of September before stepping up to a mile in the Group 3 Autumn Stakes at Newmarket where he found only PERSIAN KING too good.  

Offered at the December Foal Sale by Norelands Stud, the Group 1 winning two year old was purchased by a buying combination of MV Magnier, Mayfair Speculators and Peter and Ross Doyle for 340,000 guineas.

MAGNA GRECIA’s victory in the Group 1 Vertem Futurity Trophy provided a significant update to the pedigree of his dam, Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes winner CABARET, who is to be offered as Lot 1819 at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale.  The daughter of GALILEO is the dam of three winners and is to be offered in foal to SIYOUNI by Norelands Stud.

Also entered in the Tattersalls December Mares Sale is the DANSILI half sister to Group 1 winning MAGNA GRECIA, LADY IN LIGHTS.  Catalogued as Lot 1471, the three year old filly is to be offered by Godolphin.
