Elarqam Wins 69th Book 1 Bonus and Earns £40,262

The Mark Johnston trained ELARQAM became the 69th winner of a £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus when impressive in the Judith Marshall Memorial British EBF Novice Stakes at York. The beautifully bred son of sire sensation FRANKEL earned £40,262 on debut for owner Hamdan Al Maktoum who’s Shadwell Estate Company purchased him for 1.6 million guineas at Book 1.

ELARQAM is out of dual Classic winner ATTRACTION, a winner of five Group 1 races during her racing career and latterly the dam of 6 winners from 6 runners including Group 3 Sapphire Stakes winner FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH. Floors Stud, who consigned the colt at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale are set to offer his DUBAWI half-brother at this year’s sale, catalogued as Lot 347.
