German 2,000 Guineas Winner Fox Champion Heads Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Double

Fox Champion Winning the Group 2 Mehl-Mülhens-Rennen

Victory for FOX CHAMPION in the Group 2 Mehl-Mülhens-Rennen (German 2,000 Guineas) and STORMY ANTARCTIC in the Group 2 Premio Presidente della Repubblica made it a weekend to remember for Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale purchases.

The Richard Hannon-trained FOX CHAMPION is beginning to live up to his name, following his Classic win in the Group 2 Mehl-Mülhens-Rennen at Cologne Racecourse. The son of KODIAC, out of FOLEGANDROS ISLAND, was a 420,000 guineas purchase at last year’s Craven Breeze Up by SackvilleDonald’s Alastair Donald from the draft of Church Farm & Horse Park Stud.

At Capanelle Racecourse in Italy, the evergreen STORMY ANTARCTIC landed his fifth Group race victory in the Group 2 Premio Presidente della Repubblica. The six-year-old son of STORMY ATLANTIC won his first Group race in the Group 2 Craven Stakes four years ago and has collected prize money of more than £600,000 for his owner PK Siu. He was also purchased by SackvilleDonald’s Alastair Donald, this time for 200,000 guineas from Brendan Holland’s Grove Stud.
