International Buyers To The Fore At Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale
The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale came to a close with the fourth and final session resulting in 129 lots selling for 767,100 guineas at an average of 5,947 guineas and a median of 4,000 guineas. This took the four day sale turnover to 20,863,800 guineas for the 894 lots sold at an average of 23,338 guineas and a median of 10,000 guineas.
At the conclusion of the 2013 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented;
"Graduates of the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale have won Group 1 races throughout the world in recent months and the success on the racecourse has been reflected in the extraordinarily diverse crowd of buyers we have again welcomed to Park Paddocks for this unique sale.

"As well as the massive Middle Eastern presence, the feature of the Autumn Horses in Training Sale is the ever increasing influence of Australian buyers drawn to the sale in their search for quality middle distance performers. The Australian contingent has spent more than 2.5 million guineas this week and a look at the probable field for next week's Melbourne Cup tells the story. The race is dominated by British and Irish bred horses, including a number purchased at previous renewals of the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale, and the appetite for our middle distance horses is a key part of the continuing success of the sale.
"While buyers from more than 30 different countries have all made a major contribution, they have not had it all their own way and it has been equally encouraging to see the British and Irish National Hunt fraternity active at all levels of the market. The 380,000 guineas paid for co - sale topper GOODWOOD MIRAGE is the highest auction price for a National Hunt prospect in Britain and Ireland this year and is another example of the diversity which sets the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale apart from all other similar sales."
The 41 lots Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 4 followed after the Autumn Horses in Training Sale. 25 of the 37 lots offered were sold for a total of 115,700 guineas at an average of 4,628 guineas and a median of 3,500 guineas. The top lot was the daughter of MULTIPLEX out of the FASLIYEV mare NUT who was knocked down to Bobby O’Ryan for 14,000 guineas.
