The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale came to a close with DALAMAR topping proceedings at 45,000 guineas. The final day saw a total of 246 lots sell for 1,343,600 guineas, at an average of 5,462 guineas and a median of 4,000 guineas. The four day sale saw turnover of 20,344,550 guineas for the 1,038 lots sold, at an average of 19,600 guineas and a median of 10,000 guineas.
DALAMAR, catalogued as lot 1637, topped the final session when being bought by Tina Rau Bloodstock for 45,000 guineas. The daughter of MONTJEU out of the MARJU mare DALASYLA is a half-sister to the Listed winner DALKOVA, and from the Aha Khan family of Group 1 winners DALIAPOUR, DAR RE MI and DARSHAAN.
Rau bought the filly on behalf of Moa Sundstrom, daughter of The Coulonces Consignment’s Anna Sundstrom, and Charlotte Hutchinson, head girl at Coulonces. The filly was consigned by Rae Guest on behalf of Andrew Tinkler.

At the conclusion of the 2015 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented;
“Year after year, the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale attracts a cosmopolitan cast of buyers and 2015 has proved to be no different, with representatives from more than 40 countries finding their way to Park Paddocks. One of the principal reasons those buyers keep coming back is due to the success of graduates of the sale on the racecourse. Since 2010 there has been a remarkable 15 individual Group 1 winners worldwide that were sourced at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale including 2,000 Guineas victor Makfi.
“This year’s sale featured a record number of lots offered and with the clearance rate of 85% holding up remarkably well, it has resulted in a record number of lots sold for this fixture. However, whilst demand from buyers from Australia, Hong Kong, Dubai and Qatar remained high, it would be fair to say that the quality of horse on offer in the catalogue is below that of previous years. That said, demand at the top remained buoyant with two lots selling for 400,000 guineas or more, a number not bettered for a decade.
