Irish Oaks Winner You Got To Me To Be Offered at Tattersalls December Mares Sale

Brilliant Irish Oaks winner YOU GOT TO ME is to be offered at the forthcoming Tattersalls December Mares Sale which will take place from December 2nd - 5th. The Classic winning three year old filly heads a stellar line up in the third edition of the elite Sceptre Sessions, which will be held on Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd December.    

Trained by Ralph Beckett for Valmont and Newsells Park Stud Bloodstock 24, YOU GOT TO ME was a dominant winner of the Group 1 Irish Oaks at the Curragh and will be the first Irish Oaks winner sold at Tattersalls in the year of her victory in over 40 years. She will be offered for sale from her part – owner’s Newsells Park Stud.  

By Newsells Park Stud’s proven Classic sire NATHANIEL, YOU GOT TO ME broke her maiden stylishly over a mile on debut at two, before quickly establishing herself as one of the best of her generation with a stylish front running victory in the Listed Lingfield Oaks Trial on her three year old debut. Having finished a highly creditable fourth in both the Oaks at Epsom and the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot, YOU GOT TO ME produced one of the distaff performances of the season with an impressive victory in a high class renewal of the Irish Oaks defeating subsequent Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks winner CONTENT.  

Described by her jockey Hector Crouch as “Very tough, very brave and very good” after her Irish Oaks win, YOU GOT TO ME renewed her rivalry with CONTENT in the Yorkshire Oaks, on which occasion she finished a close second, narrowly failing to repel the fast finishing Ballydoyle filly. Having shown all of her best form on Good to Firm or Good ground YOU GOT TO ME will go into her four year old year as the winner of three of her eight starts to date.  

Bought for 200,000 guineas by Alex Elliott at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, YOU GOT TO ME joins an illustrious band of Classic and Group 1 winners by NATHANIEL alongside the likes of Oaks and dual Arc winner ENABLE, Group 1 Nassau Stakes winner LADY BOWTHORPE and Derby winner DESERT CROWN. Bred by Dullingham Park Stud and Sarabex, her dam BRUSHING was a two length winner of the Listed Galtres Stakes by MEDICEAN, himself a multiple Group 1 producing broodmare sire by influential sire MACHIAVELLIAN. BRUSHING is out of a half-sister to Grade 2 winner WAIT TILL MONDAY and Group 3 winner TOKEN GESTURE, from the ever – popular Moyglare Stud family of Grade 1 winner RELAXED GESTURE.
