Just The Judge Heads Quality December Mare Sale Catalogue
The catalogue for the Tattersalls December Mare Sale, Europe’s premier breeding stock sale which takes place on December 1st – 4th, is now online and can be viewed at www.tattersalls.com. Headed by the Classic and dual-Group 1 winner JUST THE JUDGE, the catalogue comprises 1,095 broodmares and fillies in/out of training and also features nine mares in foal to the incomparable FRANKEL.
Unrivalled as Europe’s leading breeding stock sale, the 2014 renewal of the Tattersalls December Mare Sale is set to live up to its billing as ‘the world’s most international bloodstock sale’ combining the best of British and Irish bloodstock with quality consignments from throughout Europe and further afield. The Classic and Group 1 winning fillies JUST THE JUDGE and British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes winner SEAL OF APPROVAL head the list of more than 30 Group/Listed winning fillies in/out of training catalogued. The pair are joined by Group 2 winners MANGO DIVA, Lonsdale Cup winner PALE MIMOSA, German Group 2 winner and German Oaks third LONGINA, Group 3 winner KENHOPE who was placed in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes, Group 2 winner L’AMOUR DE MA VIE and VOLUME, who was placed in both the English and Irish Oaks this year.
There was great demand and anticipation last year with the first mares in foal to FRANKEL and that is set to continue with nine mares catalogued in foal to the great racehorse. The catalogue also features 80 mares in foal to the current top 10 active British and Irish sires including DUBAWI, GALILEO, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, OASIS DREAM, SEA THE STARS and SHAMARDAL as well as more than 120 Group and Listed winners/producers. The catalogue also features the only mare in foal to the outstanding US stallion WAR FRONT to be offered in Britain or Ireland this year.
As ever, the leading owner/breeders Cheveley Park Stud, Darley, Juddmonte Farms, Newsells Park Stud and Shadwell are well represented with nearly 120 mares and fillies catalogued between them, while last year's leading consignor, The Castlebridge Consignment, brings a formidable team of 70.
