The John Quinn trained MELODY KING became the 181st winner of a £25,000 October Book 1 Bonus when taking out the Jenny Roberts Millinery – EBF Novice Stakes at Thirsk on Saturday. The son of KODIAC earned his owner Phoenix Thoroughbreds a total of £38,725 for winning with prize money of £6,225 and a Plus 10 Bonus of £7,500 added to the £25,000 Book 1 Bonus. MELODY KING was purchased at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by Phoenix Thoroughbreds from the draft of Corduff Stud who bred him.
