Middle Park Third Summer Sands Heads Five Wildcards added to Tattersalls Autumn HIT Sale
Richard Fahey’s SUMMER SANDS is one of five exciting wildcards added to the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale that starts on Monday, October 28 and runs until Thursday, October 31.
SUMMER SANDS, who races in the colours of The Cool Silk Partnership, looks an exciting addition to the Horses in Training catalogue, following on from his recent close third to EARTHLIGHT in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket. The son of COACH HOUSE, who has an official BHA rating of 109, left the Group performers THREAT, LOPE Y FERNANDEZ, and MONARCH OF EGYPT in his wake. He then quickly followed up with a very easy win in the Listed Redcar Two Year Old Trophy on his next start. SUMMER SANDS is catalogued as lot 720A on Tuesday, October 29 and will be consigned from Richard Fahey’s Musley Bank Stables.
Another wildcard that looks set to attract plenty of interest is the James Fanshawe-trained three-year-old PONDUS. The son of exciting young sire SEA THE MOON has a ‘Timeform’ rating of 117 and has been placed at Group/Listed level in three of his last four starts including behind subsequent Grade 1 Canadian International winner DESERT ENCOUNTER in the Group 3 Legacy Cup and behind subsequent Group 1 Champion Stakes runner-up ADDEYBB in the Group 3 Rose of Lancaster Stakes. PONDUS is catalogued as lot 1110A and will be consigned from Fanshawe’s Pegasus Stables.
There are two Irish consigned wildcard lots including the Joseph O’Brien trained PASLEY, a winner on his most recent start at Gowran Park, currently boasting a ‘Timeform’ rating of 90p. The lightly raced son of CAMELOT is catalogued as lot 390A and will be offered on the first day of the Autumn Horses in Training Sale, on Monday, October 28 where he will be consigned by O’Brien’s Carriganog Racing.
Also coming from Ireland will be the Jim Bolger trained TEN YEAR TICKET, a winner at his only start at the Curragh last Tuesday. The Nicolas Teehan owned son of ROCK OF GIBRALTAR beat a group of well-bred newcomers impressively and earned a ‘Timeform’ rating of 87p for his victory. He is catalogued as lot 643A and will be consigned from Bolger’s Glebe House Stables.
Completing the quintet of wildcards is another first time out two-year-old winner in SEASONY. The Mark Johnston-trained son of SIYOUNI overcame his inexperience to beat the 90-rated LEXINGTON REBEL by half a length. He is catalogued as lot 808A and will be consigned from Johnston’s Kingsley Park.
The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale takes place from Monday, October 28 to Thursday, October 31. Catalogues are out now and available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls Representatives and online at www.tattersalls.com.
