Outstanding Sprinter Marsha To Be Sold at Tattersalls December Sale
The outstanding dual Group 1 winning sprinter MARSHA is to be sold at the forthcoming Tattersalls December Mares Sale, which takes place December 4th - 7th and features the Ballymacoll Dispersal.
Trained by Sir Mark Prescott, the four-year-old daughter of ACCLAMATION established herself as one of the finest sprinting fillies of recent years with impressive wins in this year’s Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York and last year's Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye at Chantilly. Following her recent second behind BATTAASH in the Prix de l’Abbaye, MARSHA is set to end her four-year-old year with a tilt at the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Del Mar where she will renew rivalry with Nunthorpe runner up LADY AURELIA, before heading to the Tattersalls December Sale.
Owned and bred by the Elite Racing Club, MARSHA has won or been placed in all bar two of her 17 starts to date, with five of her seven wins coming at Group and Listed level. In total she has amassed almost £650,000 in prize money and currently has an official rating of 120, making her the highest rated older filly in Britain.
Out of the Listed winning MARJU mare MARLINKA, MARSHA hails from the outstanding family nurtured by the Elite Racing Club, which has already produced their two Champion racemares RIBBONS and SOVIET SONG. She will be consigned from her trainer Sir Mark Prescott’s Heath House Stables.
Commenting on MARSHA, Elite Racing’s Dan Downie said;
“Marsha has been an absolute star for us and we are delighted to be sending her to the December Mares Sale as we are confident that Tattersalls is the best platform from which to showcase our star filly.”
The 2017 Tattersalls December Mares Sale, featuring the Ballymacoll Dispersal, takes place Monday 4th - Thursday 7th December and the catalogue will be online next week.
