Prix Vermeille Winner Teona to be Offered at Tattersalls December Mares Sale

Group 1 Winner In Foal To Frankel  

Group 1 Prix Vermeille winner TEONA is to be offered for sale at the forthcoming Tattersalls December Mares Sale which takes place Monday, 4th - Thursday, 7th December. The five-year-old daughter of SEA THE STARS, carrying her first foal by Champion sire FRANKEL, is catalogued as lot 1786 and will be amongst the highlights of the Sceptre Session on Tuesday 5th December.  

Trained by Roger Varian for owner Ali Saeed, TEONA’s finest hour came in the 2021 Group 1 Prix Vermeille when beating the outstanding Aidan O’Brien trained Oaks winner SNOWFALL by 1 1/2 lengths. Her final career start came in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf at Del Mar where she finished a close up third behind YIBIR ahead of multiple Group 1 winners TARNAWA and JAPAN.  

The regally bred TEONA is out of Group 1 Pretty Polly and Group 2 Middleton Stakes winner AMBIVALENT and is also a half sister to the high class DUBAWI colt AL HILALEE, winner of the Group 2 Prix Hocquart, from the direct family of Group 1 winning sprinter TOTAL GALLERY. The winner of three of her seven starts and over £600,000 in prize money, TEONA will be consigned on behalf of Rabbah Bloodstock by Barton Stud.
