Donohoe Strikes for Horoscope BBA Ireland’s Michael Donohoe signed for the top two lots during the opening session with both lots headed for the Middle East. The second of the pair and the top priced lot for the day was the three-year-old colt HOROSCOPE who was consigned by Coolmore and knocked down for 325,000 guineas. “He goes to the Middle East,” revealed Donohoe. “With a rating of 110 he can run in all those top races in the Emirates. He goes on quick ground and he is versatile, he is a good-looking horse and he has the pedigree to be a stallion down the road.” The son of NO NAY NEVER has won at Listed level for trainer Aidan O’Brien and was third in the Group 2 Boomerang Mile at Leopardstown two starts ago. Lot 257: I Am Magic (IRE) I Am Magic Heads for Saudi Derby Donohoe had earlier secured the Michael O’Callaghan trained I AM MAGIC for 200,000 guineas and the son of MAGICIAN is set to head to Saudi Arabia. The two-year-old colt was a close up third in the Group 3 Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown on his most recent start, which earned him an official rating of 101. “He has been bought for a Middle Eastern client to run in the Saudi Derby on Saudi Cup day,” said Donohoe. “He has come recommended by Michael [O’Callaghan], I have seen his races and seen him breeze. He is a big horse and there is more to come from him.” I AM MAGIC was purchased by O’Callaghan at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale for 95,000 guineas, having been a 14,000 guineas Tattersalls Ascot yearling. Lot 191: Majalh (IRE) Qatari Trainer Ghazali Secures Majalh for 155,000 Guineas Qatar’s leading trainer Jassim Ghazali is a regular visitor to Tattersalls during horses in training sales, and whilst he was not able to attend this year he was busy bidding via the Tattersalls Online Bidding platform, securing the Shadwell Estate consigned MAJALH for 155,000 guineas. The two-year-old son of SIYOUNI, who was trained by William Haggas, was an impressive four length winner at Brighton on his third and most recent start, earning a ‘Timeform’ rating of 91p. Will Douglass, who helps Ghazali with his European purchasing, commented: “This horse ticks all the boxes, he has been very well presented and produced by Shadwell. He is by Siyouni and out of a Sea The Stars mare, which is great breeding. He is just a two-year-old, and it looks as though there is more to come from him.” Douglass added: “Jassim really wanted to get to Newmarket this week, but it was just not to be.” Lot 344: Raadobarg (IRE) Raadobarg to Murtagh for 150,000 Guineas The three-year-old colt RAADOBARG caught the attention of several buyers, selling to agent Hamish Macauley for 150,000 guineas on behalf of trainer Johnny Murtagh. The Amo Racing owned colt was trained by Roger Varian who won three races with him earlier this year. The son of NIGHT OF THUNDER was offered with a ‘Timeform’ rating of 108. Murtagh has enjoyed a great season on the track this year and said: “I am delighted to get such a high-class horse. His form looks solid and hopefully he can improve from three to four.” The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale continues at 9.30am on Tuesday 26th October.
