Tattersalls August Sale Catalogue Online Now
The catalogue for the Tattersalls August Sale, taking place on Friday 1st September, is now online and can be viewed at www.tattersalls.com. Numbering 353 lots, the Tattersalls August Sale comprises 221 colts and geldings in/out of training and 124 fillies in/out of training, as well as six broodmares.
The 2023 edition of the Tattersalls August Sale has again attracted consignments from many of the world’s leading owner/breeders, including Godolphin and Juddmonte Farms, alongside drafts from many of the UK and Ireland’s leading trainers.
Amongst the highlights is the high-class three-year-old colt PEKING OPERA who will be consigned by The Castlebridge Consignment. By GALILEO out of an own sister to the European Champion two-year-old colt AIR FORCE BLUE, PEKING OPERA was victorious in the Listed Yeats Stakes on his first start this year before going on to finish fourth in the Group 1 Irish Derby and, most recently, finishing third in the Group 3 Ballyroan Stakes. Also part of The Castlebridge Consignment’s draft is Royal Ascot winner RHYTHM N HOOVES, an unexposed three-year-old who was victorious in the Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes and boasts a Timeform rating of 103, and FRENCH CLAIM, a lightly raced four-year-old colt with a Timeform rating of 114 who was last seen finishing second in the Listed Vintage Crop Stakes and was placed in last year’s Group 1 Irish Derby behind WESTOVER.
There are a host of unexposed two-year-olds catalogued, with agent Jamie Railton consigning the HAVANA GREY colt G’DAY MATE, a winner on his second start at Bellewstown, and MAN WITH THE PLAN, a son of JAMES GARFIELD who won the Listed Premio Criterium Varesino on his latest start. Another is the Alice Haynes trained HALA EMARAATY, a KODIAC colt who has won two of his five starts and was last seen finishing fourth in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes, whilst Dullingham Park are set to offer AMBUSHED, a SOLDIER’S CALL colt who shed his maiden tag at Newcastle at his second start, beating the subsequent Group 2 Richmond Stakes second BALLYMOUNT BOY, and WORLD OF DARCY, another winning SOLDIER’S CALL colt who has been placed twice at Listed level and is rated 90 by Timeform.
Baroda Stud will bring a typically strong draft to the Tattersalls August Sale, headed by the top-class sprinter MITBAAHY. The four-year-old PROFITABLE half-brother to Grade 1 winner GOING GLOBAL was a six length winner of the Listed Queensferry Stakes on his latest start, adding to the Group 3 victory already on his résumé. Last start winners SIR WINSTON, a 95 Timeform rated four-year-old son of CHURCHILL who ran out an easy winner over seven furlongs, and OKAMI, a three-year-old son of SHOWCASING who made his handicap debut a winning one, also feature among Baroda Stud’s consignment.
VIRTUAL ROCK brings French form to the Tattersalls August Sale, with the four-year-old son of FASCINATING ROCK a winner of the Listed Prix Lord Seymour at ParisLongchamp on his latest start for Satoshi Kobayashi, having already being placed twice at Group level.

The Tattersalls August Sale will take place on Friday 1st September and buyers unable to attend the sale in person will be able to bid via the Tattersalls Live Internet Bidding platform.
