Tattersalls Confirms 2021 Breeze Up Fixtures

The Tattersalls Group has confirmed its portfolio of Breeze Up Sales for 2021, with the fixtures comprising the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale and the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up and Horses in Training Sale, both of which will take place at the Tattersalls headquarters in Newmarket, followed by the Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Breeze Up Sale, now well established as Ireland’s only breeze up sale, which will take place at Tattersalls Ireland in Fairyhouse. There will be no Tattersalls Ascot Breeze Up Sale in 2021.

The flagship Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale will take place April 12th - 14th, coinciding with the prestigious Newmarket Craven Meeting, followed by the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up and Horses in Training Sale on April 29th - 30th, which precedes the Classic action at Newmarket’s two day Guineas Meeting. 

Similarly, the Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Breeze Up Sale is scheduled to take place at Fairyhouse on the eve of the Curragh’s Tattersalls sponsored Irish Guineas Festival on May 20th - 21st. 

Commenting on the trio of Tattersalls Breeze Up Sales, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said;

“It will be a huge relief for all concerned to have the Tattersalls Breeze Up Sales return to their traditional dates after this year's COVID - related disruption. Obviously the possibility of further disruption in both Britain and Ireland still exists, but the recent news that we can expect limited crowds to be allowed back to racecourses in Britain in the very near future gives us all optimism as we look forward to next year. 

“Between the three Tattersalls and Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sales we will be aiming to accommodate very similar numbers to the total catalogued in 2020, but without staging the Ascot fixture which this year took place alongside the Craven Breeze Up owing to the calendar changes. Rationalizing the number of Breeze Up sales should alleviate the demands placed upon all participants in this important but congested sector of the bloodstock market and we are confident that the 2021 Tattersalls portfolio of Breeze Up Sales will allow us to accommodate the requirements of consignors and buyers better than ever.”

Nominations for the 2021 Tattersalls and Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sales are now being taken and inspections will commence in January.
