Tattersalls December Yearling Blazing Speed Stars In Hong Kong
Tattersalls December Yearling purchase BLAZING SPEED provided a timely reminder of the quality to be found at Europe’s final yearling sale of the year when landing the prestigious Group 2 Jockey Club Gold Cup in Hong Kong.
Purchased by bloodstock agent Cormac McCormack for 41,000 guineas at the 2010 Tattersalls December Yearling Sale, the son of DYLAN THOMAS beat a star studded field under jockey Neil Callan, with multiple Group 1 winner MILITARY ATTACK a head behind in second. Sold by Kilminfoyle House Stud and formerly trained in England by Newmarket trainer James Fanshawe, BLAZING SPEED is now the winner of 6 races, including the Group 1 Champions and Chater Cup, and has amassed prize money of more than £1,300,000.
The Tattersalls December Yearling Sale, which starts 10.00am tomorrow, Monday 24th November, numbers 247 lots, and features yearlings by nine of the current top ten active British and Irish stallions including DANSILI, DUTCH ART, GALILEO, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, SEA THE STARS and SHAMARDAL, as well as the last yearling by the great MONTJEU to be offered at public auction.
