The sale features 198 breeze up two-year-olds and will take place 30th April – 1st May with the two-year-olds breezing at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse on Wednesday, 30th April starting at 9.00am. The Horses in Training section numbers 163 lots with the sale taking place on Thursday, 1st May at 9.30am followed immediately by the Guineas Breeze Up lots. Highlights amongst the well-related lots catalogued in the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale include the KINGMAN colt out of Group 1 winner SAMBA INC, the FOOTSTEPSINTHESAND colt out of Group 2 Cherry Hinton and Group 3 Albany Stakes winner SANDER CAMILLO, the CALYX colt out of a GALILEO half-sister to Group 1 winning sprinter ART CONNOISSEUR, and the colt by ST MARK’S BASILICA out of a half-sister to multiple Group winner and Grade 1 runner up HAWKSMOOR and Group 2 Royal Lodge winner ROYAL DORNOCH. They will be joined by the ST MARK’S BASILICA filly out of the Group 1 Flying Fives Stakes second KEEP BUSY, the TWILIGHT SON own-sister to top class sprinter and Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes second TWILIGHT CALLS, and the MEHMAS filly out of a half-sister to Grade 1 winner DIGITAL AGE. No fewer than 43 of the stallions with two-year-olds catalogued have already sired Classic or Group/Grade 1 winners, including ARDAD, CHURCHILL, COTAI GLORY, CRACKSMAN, DARK ANGEL, HAVANA GREY, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, KAMEKO, KINGMAN, KODIAC, MEHMAS, NEW BAY, NIGHT OF THUNDER, NO NAY NEVER, SEA THE MOON, SHOWCASING, SIOUX NATION, STUDY OF MAN, TERRITORIES, TOO DARN HOT, WOOTTON BASSETT and ZOUSTAR. Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale flagbearer Trueshan was bought for 31,000 guineas by Highflyer Bloodstock / A King and claimed his 10th Group/Listed victory in 2024 The Horses in Training section of the Guineas Sale features 163 lots with Barton Sales offering the largest consignment of 20 lots including several smartly bred unraced colts and geldings offered in training. They are led by HIGH CHIEF, the GALILEO colt out of dual Group 1 winner AMAZING MARIA, CLOSE ENVOY, a son of LOPE DE VEGA out of Group 2 Lowther Stakes winner LIVING IN THE PAST, LONE WARRIOR, the NEW BAY half-brother to multiple Group 1 placed GHOSTWRITER and an unnamed two-year-old SEA THE STARS half-brother to Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes winner AJAYA. The consignment of ten lots from Juddmonte also includes a number of beautifully bred unraced colts in training including three-year-olds CONCERT TOUR, the NATHANIEL own-brother to Champion and eleven-time Gr.1 winner ENABLE, BEST NEWS, the FRANKEL own-brother to Group 1 placed WEEKENDER out of a daughter of HASILI, and colts by NIGHT OF THUNDER, KINGMAN, SEA THE STARS and WOOTTON BASSETT. Unexposed three-year-olds with significant promise include OPERA SCORE, the winner of her only start to date in March by four and three quarter lengths earning a Timeform rating of 78p, who will be offered by Consign Ltd. alongside VEBLEN GOOD, a son of STARSPANGLEDBANNER who won and placed second on his two starts to date earning a Timeform rating of 81p. Barton Sales will consign fellow last time out scorer EXACTLY RIGHT, a three-year-old son of KINGMAN out of Group winner MOT JUSTE who is Timeform rated 81p after a win on his second start in March, and the three-year-old colt GOD OF WAR who will be offered with an official rating of 93. Other lightly raced lots with significant promise include the GALILEO colt JAVA RAJA who boasts a Timeform rating of 87 and will be offered by last year’s leading consignors the Castlebridge Consignment on behalf of John & Thady Gosden’s Clarehaven Stables. Consignments from Godolphin are always a key attraction of horses in training sales at Tattersalls and they will offer fourteen lots led by the highly rated BYSTANDER, lightly raced FRANKEL four-year-old GHOSTLORE and promising last time out winner MACEDONIAN, Timeform rated 97, 92 and 80 respectively, and leading British trainers with consignments to note include Andrew Balding, Clive Cox, Ed Dunlop, Richard Hannon, Charlie Johnston, Sir Mark Prescott and Kevin Ryan.
