Two Further Exciting Race Fillies Added to the Tattersalls December Mares Sale
Two further exciting race fillies have been added to the Tattersalls December Mares Sale which will take place from Monday 2nd – Thursday 5th December.
The two new wildcards are led by the high class three-year-old SAKTI, the impressive winner of the Listed Cooley Fillies & Mares Stakes on her most recent start in early November. Trained by Ger Lyons, the consistent filly will be offered as lot 1771B by Grove Stud and has made seven of her nine starts in Group or Listed company, winning or placing second in five Group/Listed races.
Beaten just a neck by subsequent Group winner BRILLIANT on her debut, SAKTI was twice Group placed at two including when second in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes behind VESPERTILIO, runner up in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes and beaten just half a length in the French 1000 Guineas. Twice second this season in Listed company and fourth in the Group 3 Snow Fairy Fillies Stakes at the Curragh, she gained a well-deserved first Stakes success with a dominant performance at Dundalk over a mile.
By SCAT DADDY’s multiple Group 1 winning son CARAVAGGIO, sire of Cartier Champion Three Year Old Filly PORTA FORTUNA, SAKTI is from the exceptional Jim Bolger family of Champion Two Year Old TEOFILO and 2000 Guineas winner POETIC FLARE.
SAKTI will be joined by promising two-year-old NAUGHTY EYES, who will be offered by the Castlebridge Consignment as lot 1486D on Monday. Trained by George Boughey, NAUGHTY EYES romped home by three and three-quarter lengths at Wolverhampton over six furlongs on her only start to date earning a Timeform rating of 72p. By the record-breaking young stallion MEHMAS, sire of three Group/Grade 1 winning two-year-olds in 2024, NAUGHTY EYES is out of an EXCEED AND EXCEL half-sister to dual Group 1 winner CAMPANELLE, twice a winner at Royal Ascot in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup and Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes.
