Work has continued in Park Paddocks at Tattersalls throughout the summer with improvements since the July Sale in several yards whilst access to the road leading from the main car park to the Woodditton gate will be closed to all vehicles, with the exception of emergency vehicles, and Tattersalls electric buggies and trolleys.

Yard Improvements

The following yards have had improvements since the July Sale:

  • Left Hand Yard – the showing lanes have been reconfigured with rubber pavers
  • Wall Boxes X – Y – the showing area has been widened with rubber pavers adjacent to boxes X528 – Y541
  • G Block – a new rubber showing lane has been created in the tarmac adjacent to boxes G81 – G94
  • The walkway from the Control Crossing to the Sale Ring via the Vet X-Ray & Scoping boxes has been changed from pea shingle to rubber

Other works which are currently underway and which will be ready for the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales include:

  • A new horse access from Highflyer to the lunging ring at Coronation Stables
  • Sale Ring Exit – the pea shingle removed and replaced with rubber pavers
  • New gates from Further Paddock to the Main Car Park to prevent horses from going into the main car park

Access to Tattersalls Parking via The Avenue Only

Following feedback from clients and stakeholders the Woodditton Gate will no longer provide vehicle access to Park Paddocks except for emergency use. With the exception of horseboxes, all vehicular access is now via The Avenue entrance only, with gates installed to prevent vehicles from driving beyond the Highflyer Car Park. This has enabled the road between the Control Crossing and the Woodditton Road to become a dedicated horse and pedestrian walkway, with the exception of emergency vehicles, and Tattersalls electric buggies and trolleys. In due course additional car parking will be available at Crockfords Stud.

The above will benefit all users particularly those leading horses and reduces the interaction between horse and vehicle movements at Park Paddocks.
