The Charlie Appleby trained VOLKAN STAR won the 174th £25,000 October Book 1 Bonus when taking out the British European Breeders Fund EBF Novice Stakes at Goodwood yesterday. The son of SEA THE STARS was a 1,000,000 guineas yearling at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale where he was purchased by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock from the draft of Longview Stud.
