Osaila Wins £300,000 Tattersalls Millions 2yo Fillies’ Trophy
Richard Hannon saddled Osaila to win the nine runner £300,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Fillies’ Trophy at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile today, the third race of the 2014/15 £1.3 million Tattersalls Millions race series.
The daughter of Danehill Dancer was bought by Al Shaqab Racing from consignor Camas Park Stud at the 2013 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1. Osaila has previously won twice before including the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes in July. Osaila is part of the Al Shaqab Super 20 group of horses, all raising money for Jack Berry House, and the prize money she has won today of more than £130,000 has taken the total raised to over £400,000.
After the race Richard Hannon commented, “She’s a lovely filly. She has just started to go in her coat a little bit but you would expect that at this time of year. She has entries in the Fillies Mile and the Breeders Cup but I will have a chat with the Sheikh and then we will decide what to do next.”
Lacing was second for Richard Fahey, with Very Special for Saeed Bin Suroor in third.
There are two more races scheduled in the 2014/15 £1.3 million Tattersalls Millions series, both of which take place at The Craven Meeting next year, with £300,000 prize money on offer.
Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, featuring the only yearlings eligible for next year’s £1.3 million Tattersalls Millions series takes place from 7 – 9 October.
