Tattersalls October 1 Group 1 Double
POWER and DUNCAN provided a Group 1 double for graduates of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale following wins in the Group 1 National Stakes and Group 1 Irish St Leger at The Curragh.
The OASIS DREAM colt POWER representing Ballydoyle provided the first of the double and the son of the INCHINOR mare FRAPPE was a bargain buy, having been sold privately to Demi O’Byrne for 50,000 guineas at last year’s renewal of the sale from the draft of Highclere Stud.
It was to prove an Irish Group 1 double for Tattersalls October 1 graduates with DUNCAN dead-heating with JUKEBOX JURY in the Irish St Leger. The Normandie Stud owned son of DALAKHANI was knocked down to Mead, Goodbody for 100,000 guineas at the 2006 October 1 Sale.
With Europe’s leading yearling sale under a month away another to give the sale a boost was the Richard Hannon trained BRONTERRE who looked a star in the making when running out a very easy winner of the Listed Peter Willett Stakes at Goodwood. Also a son of OASIS DREAM, BRONTERRE was bought by Peter Doyle Bloodstock for 110,000 guineas at last year’s sale from Yeomanstown Stud.
The catalogue received a further boost with the victory of MONSIEUR CHEVALIER in the Listed Starlit Stakes at Goodwood with his RED CLUBS half-brother to be offered as lot 493 by Tally-Ho Stud as part of a nine-strong draft.
Highclere Stud will offer a draft of 29 yearlings, Yeomanstown Stud will be represented by 7 yearlings whilst Juddmonte Farms’ OASIS DREAM has 17 yearlings catalogued and DALAKHANI 19.
The Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 takes place from October 5 – 7 with all catalogued lots eligible for the Tattersalls Millions, Europe’s most extensive sales race series. Catalogues are out now and available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls representatives and online.
