Waterloo Bridge Heads Runners For The £100,000 Tattersalls Millions 3YO Sprint
The penultimate race in Europe’s most valuable sales race series, the £1.3 million Tattersalls Millions, takes place this Wednesday, 13 April, at The Craven Meeting, Newmarket, with the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions 3YO Sprint. A total of five have been declared for the six furlong contest, including WATERLOO BRIDGE who holds an entry for both the QIPCO 2000 Guineas Stakes and The Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas.
Waterloo Bridge will be up against GIFTED MASTER who beat him to the post in the 14 runner £500,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Trophy at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse last October.
Trainer Hugo Palmer commented; “Gifted Master has wintered very well and we are very happy with his work. He is in great shape but my big concern is dropping him back to 6 furlongs. Obviously being a gelding, the Guineas and Guineas trials aren’t on his agenda and the Tattersalls Millions 3YO Sprint is worth nearly twice what a Guineas trial would be worth so this is the direction that we have gone in. We are very happy with his condition but we are just a touch nervous about taking him back to sprinting.”
HILLSIDE DREAM, TIGER WOLF and JOULES complete the field for The £100,000 Tattersalls Millions 3YO Sprint.
The Tattersalls Millions race series will conclude with this Thursday with the running of the £200,000 Tattersalls Millions 3YO Trophy at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse. Book 1 of the 2016 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale will take place October 4 – 6 and will feature the only yearlings eligible for the £25,000 Tattersalls October ‘Book 1 Bonus’ which offers a £25,000 bonus to any October Book 1 graduate who wins a qualifying 2YO maiden or novice race in Great Britain or an ‘Open’ 2YO Maiden in Ireland.
